Dear Mr. 3ideris:
On July 30, 2010, the NC Division of Water Quality (now the Division of Water Resources) issued a
40I Water Quality Certification for the Mission Hydroelectric Project. Condition h in the
Certification stated that Addenda No. 1 and No. 3 sent from Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC to Mr.
John Dorney from Mr. Steven Jester on May 26, and May 27, 2010, respectively are hereby
incorporated into this Certification. Addendum No. l defines a large extended dravvdovvnesone
in which the reservoir is maintained at a level greater than 1.0 foot below the normal target
elevation for a1 least 3O consecutive days. |n consultation with Mr. Steve Johnson of Duke Energy
Carolinas, LLC and Ms. Renee Gledhill-Earley of the NC State Historic Preservation Office and upon
review of the Historic Properties Management Plan Mission Hydroelectric Project FERC#26I9
dated July 31, 2006, we have determined that the definition in Addendum No. 1 contains a
typographical error. The correct definition ofa large extended dravvdnvvnis one in which the
reservoir is maintained at a level greater than 10 feet below the normal target elevation for at
least 3O consecutive days. This change is hereby made in the Certification listed above.
