Belews Creek, NC 27009 SUBJECT: Compliance Inspection Report Belews Creek Steam Station NPDES WW Permit No. NC0024406 Stokes County Dear Mr. Anderson: Shuying Wang, the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR), Winston-Salem Regional Office (WSRO), visited the Belews Creek Steam Station on August 11, 2022 to perform Compliance Evaluation Inspection. The inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0024406. The assistance and cooperation of Brenda Johnson, Travis Thornton, Barry Jones, and Lori Tollie are greatly appreciated. Details of the inspection are recorded on the attached EPA Water Compliance Inspection Report. There were no significant issues noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required. The facility was clean and well maintained. Records of EDMRs and associated lab reports, COCs, and field records, pH meter and temperature measurement device calibration records, and the ORC visitation log were reviewed. No discrepancies from the permit were noted. The FGD wastewater treatment plant, Outfall 009 lagoon, and the new lined retention basin were visited but no issue was noted. Flow meters at Outfalls 002, 006, and 009 were checked, and no issue was found. Receiving waters at Outfall 001 was free of solids, no odor or color, but trace amount of foam. Due to the recent wet weather, access to Outfall 006 was limited.
