I checked the report yesterday and verified it again. Well, here would be the plan: We are thinking about using the High Flow Bypass structure in combination with the 130' long level spreader. That means that an orifice will direct flows under 10 CFS to the level spreader and everything over it to the bypass channel. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Again, I appreciate that you are taking the time for my questions and thank you for working with us on this project, Dirk Siebenbrodt Freeland and Kauffman, Inc. 209 West Stone Avenue Greenville, SC 29609 864-672-3408 fax 864-233-8915 -----Original Message----- From: Cynthia F Van Der Wiele [mailto:Cynthia.vanderwieie'_~ncmail.net] Sent: Wednesday, July 11, 2007 3:03 PM To: Dirk Siebenbrodt Subject: Re: DWQ EXP No. 07-0452v2 (Wal-Mart Store No 1337-06) Dirk: Wouldn't you use the discharge rate at the outlet of the detention basin??? Cynthia Dirk Siebenbrodt wrote: Cynthia, I hope you are doing fine. We are currently working on the comments for the above mentioned project. One of them was the addition of a filter strip at the basin discharge. As advised in the NCDENR SW BMP Manual, I used the 45.80 CFS that occur during the 10-year storm to calculate the total length of filter strip/level spreader and got 595'. The maximum length per the manual is 130'. So the filter strip alone will not be sufficient for the 10-year storm. Although not necessary if used in combination with wet detention basins, I was thinking about using the High Flow Bypass System as mentioned in Chapter 8 of the manual. I was also wondering where I could find more detailed plans of the filter strip and level spreader on the Internet or if you might have standard working drawings of these structures in your office.
