There is an existing public roadway along the top of the dam. During several large rain events, the dam has been overtopped and damaged due to an inadequate spillway. 3b. Because the existing outlet device is undersized, the dam has overtopped on numerous occasions and has had to be repaired. The proposed rehabilitation work on the dam will include adding new riser and outlet pipes and upstream and downstream erosion/water control devices and energy dissipator. Disturbances to existing areas will be kept to a minimum and fencing will be used to define disturbed limits. 1 b. The old outlet will remain in -place and provide a consistent flow to the stream. This Verification authorizes approximately 149' of permanent stream impacts resulting from replacement of rip -rap on the upper stream reach directly below the current outlet pipe (and above the new spillway /outlet structure), and 61' of permanent stream impacts resulting from the addition of an energy dissipater pad at the end of the outlet structure servicing the new spillway.
