I 1-0156 Mount Airy-Surry County Airport AML comments June 24, 2011 The DWQ did not conduct a detailed technical review of the stormwater management plan received on June 9, 2011 due to significant uncertainty about whether the proposed plan will be acceptable to the NCDOT and the FAA as well as substantial deficiencies in the information provided. Please provide the following information so that the DWQ can commence a technical review of the stormwater management plan. Failure to adequately provide ALL of the following items in your next submittal will result in a return of application. 2. Please provide verification that the NCDOT has reviewed the proposed stormwater management plan for treating the runoff from the Holly Springs Road Relocation concurs with the design proposed, and is willing to take over the long-term maintenance of the proposed devices. If the proposed plan is not approved by the NCDOT, then please work with the agency to develop an alternative that will be acceptable. 3. Please provide verification that the FAA has reviewed the proposed stormwater management plan for treating the runoff from the improvements to the airport, concurs with the design proposed, and is willing to take over the long-term maintenance of the proposed devices. If the proposed plan is not approved by the FAA, then please work with the agency to develop an alternative that will be acceptable. 4. For every proposed BMP, please provide the Required Items Checklist (the second page of the BMP Supplement Form) as well as all required items that were not part of the submittal received on June 9, 2011, including: • Plans (i" - 50' or larger) of the entire site showing: - Design at ultimate build-out, - Off-site drainage (if applicable), - Delineated drainage basins (include Rational C coefficient per basin), - Basin dimensions, - Pretreatment system, - Maintenance access, - Proposed drainage easement and public right of way (ROW), - Overflow device, and - Boundaries of drainage easement. Plan details (1" = 30' or larger) for the basin showing: - Basin dimensions - Pretreatment system, - Maintenance access, - Outlet structure, - Overflow device, - Flow distribution detail for basin inflow, and - Vegetation specifications. Section view of the basin (I" = 20' or larger) showing: - Side slopes, 3:1 or lower, - Pretreatment and treatment areas, and - Inlet and outlet structures.
