Dear Mr. Meyer:
The Asheville Regional Office of the North Carolina Division of Water Quality is in receipt of Burke
Counties submitted 401 Water Quality Certification Application for the Bost Road, Piedmont Road &
Sherwood Forest Subdivision Water Line Construction project. The following information is found to be
inadequate:
The submitted engineering drawings lack profile detail. Profile detail must accompny all plan views of
the proposed stream impacts.
Stream Impact number 1 (as referenced in application item VI. 2. on page 8 of 13) states that this
crossing will require 50 feet of rip-rap stabilization on Warrior Fork Creek. As this amount of
stabilization seems excessive for a water line crossing, you must provide a detailed justification for this
impact.
You must provide 7 copies of the requested information to my attention at the letterhead address within 10
business days.. Failure to submit the requested information within the 10 business day deadline will result
in the application being returned as incomplete.
