The activity for this Certification is sought to relicense the Mission hydroelectric plant on the Hiwasee River in Macon County. The application refers to water quality-related provisions of the Tuckaseegee Settlement Agreement dated December 2003 as proposed conditions of the 401 Water Quality Certification. The application discusses water quality-related improvements that are planned to the hydroelectric facilities including minimum flow release, water quality monitoring and compensatory flow mitigation. A draft 401 Certification is also available for review. The public is invited to comment on the above-mentioned application and Certification to the Division of Water Quality. Comments shall be in writing and shall be received by the Division no later than May 28, 2010. Comments should be sent to the N.C.
