WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. 28480 - 910-256-7900
Kayak Trail Project Description
The Kayak Trails will begin at Wynn Plaza from a launching dock at the end an existing
floating dock at the municipal park. Trails will wind around and through the marsh areas
surrounding Harbour Island. The trails will be marked by 12 marker buoys (see attached
description) helping to direct the paddlers through the trails, see attached map for marker
buoy locations. The buoys will also have maps attached to show the paddlers where each
trail goes. These marker buoys shall be installed with earth anchors 30" in length and a
4"-6" helix attached by a cable to the buoys. In addition to the marker buoys the Town
plans to install a maximum of 20 pole mounted informational signs (see attached map for
sign locations) in the marsh areas not to exceed 4 sq.ft. to give explanations of the flora
and fauna along the trails.
