Dear Ms. Tyner,
On August 1, 2000, I met with you at the subject property located northwest of the intersection of SR1008
and SR1223, Goldsboro, Wayne County. The purpose of this meeting was to detemune the applicability of
stream features located on the property to the Neuse River Riparian Buffer Protection Regulations (15A
NCAC 2B .0233).
As a result of this meeting it was determined that stream features "A" and "B" indicated on the attached
USDA Soil Survey map for Wayne County initialed by me on 8/1/00 are subject to the 15A NCAC 2B
.0233 buffer requirements. Feature "A" is determined to be a modified natural stream subject to the buffer
requirements for its entire length within and beyond the property boundaries. Feature "B" is determined to
be a modified natural stream subject to the buffer requirements starting at a point approximated on the
attached USGS Topo and USDA Soil Survey initialed by me on 8/1/00 and continuing downstream to its
confluence with feature "A". Feature "B" is determined to be an agricultural ditch not subject to the buffer
requirements upstream of this point.
Features "C" and "D" as indicated on the attached USDA Soil Survey initialed by me on 8/1/00 and located
upstream from Feature "B" are determined to be agricultural ditches not subject to the buffer requirements.
This office recommends that the identified subject streams and associated 50-foot protected buffers be
properly located on any future site plans to ensure compliance with 15A NCAC 2B .0233.
This letter only addresses the applicability of 15A NCAC 2B .0233(3) and does not authorize any activity
within the protected buffers. Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this office can be of any
