-- Notification of PMDF shutdown
Hi, Mike:
Ron shared this with me. After discussion, we agree that this is such a minor
issue that it can wait until the next time the permit is re -opened. Please let
us know if anything else changes.

subject: NPDES Permit NC0003573 -- Notification of PMDF shutdown
This is to notify you that the DuPont company - Fayetteville works has
permanently shutdown its PMDF manufacturing facility. This process
manufactured DUPont(TM) Teflon(R) using carbon dioxide as the solvent.
The only reference of this production facility in the subject permit is in
Page 1
FW NPDES Permit NC0003573 -- Notification of PMDF Shutdown
section 3 of the supplement to Permit cover sheet, which authorizes DuPont
Lo discharge the treated wastewater from PMDF.
I believe that this process shutdown should not necessitate the reopening
of the NPDES Permit to remove the PMDF reference in the above section, and
that instead this change could be made at the next modification of the
permit. Please let me know if you disagree with this statement.
Thanks,
Mike
