Atherton Mill Units 75, 80, Corridor 100 North
2000 South Blvd.
Charlotte, Mecklenburg County
Brownfields Project Number 10047-06-060
Dear Mr. Foster:
On February 9, 2015, the North Carolina Department of Environmental and Natural Resources
(DENR) received a Vapor Mitigation System Construction Design for Units 75 and 80 at the above
referenced site. This expanded submittal is based on the January 13, 2015 Vapor Mitigation Plan
and our site meeting on January 21, 2015. An addendum was received on February 17, 2015, to
include Corridor 100 North of Unit 80. The work plans are approved with the following
clarification, Phase 1D will not be occupied until the indoor air samples have been collected and are
below risk based indoor air concentrations as approved by DENR.
Be advised that this approval from the Brownfields Program does not waive any applicable
requirement to obtain any necessary permits, licenses or certifications for the above listed activities
nor does it waive any requirement to comply with applicable law for such activities. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me at 704/661-0330, or via e-mail at
carolyn.minnich@ncdenr.gov.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Minnich
