Question #5 -The site groundwater is known to be contaminated with the following chemicals of concern (COC): benzene, chlorobenzene, vinyl chloride, cis-1,2-dichloroethene, and 1,1-dichloroethane. Question #8 -No down gradient water-supply wells were identified within the Yi mile radius. Based on our review of the Mecklenburg County on-line database, the nearest down gradient wat er-supply well apparently used for potable purposes is located approximately 4,150 feet south/southwest of the site (1235 Allenbrook Drive). Twenty-three up gradient, private water-supply wells were observed during a reconnaissance conducted in August 2011; only on e supply well was identified as part of the Mecklenburg County on-line database review. The water- supply wells identified within Yi mile of the subject site are summarized in the attached table. Question #9 -The nearest down gradient surface water body is a tributary of Paw Creek which flows into Lake Wylie. Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities Department reportedly receives water from Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake upstream from Lake Wylie and up gradient of the subject site. Question #10 -The presence of hazardous vapors, air emissions or contaminated dust Is unknown. Vapor or air sampling results, if any, are unavailable. Question #11 -Several COC in groundwater including vinyl chloride and 1,1-dichloroethane have migrated off the subject property at concentrations in excess of 2L Standards on the following properties: Cenco Inc. property - Parcel ID No. 05712102 and the Atlantic Land & Improvement Co. property -Parcel ID No. 05702115.
