Market Street Greensboro, Guilford County Brownfields Project Number 17057-13-041 Dear Mr. Turner: The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Brownfields Program has reviewed the document entitled Brownfields Vapor Intrusion Assessment Work Plan – Revised (Hart & Hickman, October 6, 2014) submitted on behalf of Market Street Storage, LLC. The work plan was prepared in response to our request of August 13, 2014 to assess the potential for vapor intrusion to off-property residents to the east of the subject property as soon as possible. The above referenced work plan is approved with the following comments: 1) Off-site soil vapor sample locations will be collected as close as possible to the buildings without impacting foundation materials, which is anticipated to be within a distance of about five (5) feet; and 2) Add one to two sub-slab samples from within Building B, which shall be collected in accordance with DENR’s Division of Waste Management (DWM) Vapor Intrusion Guidance (April 2014). It is our understanding that Market Street Storage, LLC has attempted to gain access to the adjacent property to conduct this work. Please provide copies of any documentation related to these efforts and keep me apprised of the status of field access. The Guilford County GIS website (gis.co.guilford.nc.us) indicates that the owner of the property immediately adjacent to the Brownfields site is Nottingham Apartments, LLC, PO Box 4005, Greensboro, NC 27404, Parcel ID 0025269. The Brownfields Program is interested in obtaining these data as soon as possible in order to evaluate the potential for vapor intrusion at the adjacent apartment buildings. Market Street Storage October 30, 2014 The Market Street Storage, LLC site has been recently reassigned to me as project manager. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you and your team.
