4. Any idea what the previous contents of the drums were?
No. At the time of ECS' site visits, the drums were rusted and writing was not legible (if
observed).
5. What portion of the property did the Blounts take ownership of and what were the dates?
SBG sold a portion of the Brownfields Property to the Blounts in the mid 1990s. ECS does not
have a copy of the deed conveying the property from SBG to the Blounts. SBG reacquired
certain property (Tax Parcel 060-152 and a portion of Tax Parcel 060-10 I) back from the Blounts
on January 24, 2006. A copy of the deed and a tax map showing the property acquired by SBG
are attached as Exhibit A.
6. Comfort Contractors, In c. is not part of the proposed Brownfields Property, correct?
That is correct. Comfort Contractors, Inc. is located on an adjacent (upgradient) parcel to the
north of the site (Brown fields Property). The location of Comfort Contractors, Inc. and th e site
boundary are indicated on Figure 2 of the February I, 2007 Phase II report.
7. Where is J&S Motors located? They are noted in the ECS August I./, 2007 Phase II report as a
potential off-site source.
As indicated in the ESA, the location of J&S Motors was not positively identified; however, it
was listed within the 2005 City Directory as being located at: 1125 Klumac Road. According to a
mapquest query for this address, this address is located approximately 800 feet northeast and
topographically upgradient of the site. J&S Motors was listed as a Recognized Environmental
Condition due to the lack of information and proximity to the subject site.
8. On Figure 4 of the ECS August 1./, 2007 Phase II report, are the tanks locations as depicted the
above ground location where they were abandoned or where they were located in the subsurface?
The tanks were located upon the ground surface as "orphan" tanks. Tanks E, F, G and H are
suspected to be the tanks listed within the database search as being removed from the adjacent
Comfort Contractors, inc. site.
9. The ECS August 14, 2007 Phase II report talks about and has TW-2 in the tables, but I could not
find its location on any figures. Please direct me to its location.
The location ofTW-2 is indicated on Figure 3 on the August 14, 2007 Phase JI report but listed as
"DPT-20ffW-2" and is located approximately I 00 feet south of the northeast end of the bermed
soil. This well is also indicated on the attached Figure 10.
I 0. Would you provide an overlay of where the tanks were located during operations and the
locations where contamination was identified? The figure provided with the ECS historic
information summa1y dated December 18, 2007 may include this information but at the size
provided it is hard to read. Also, the shaded depiction of the sampling data is hard to read as it
is ve1y faint.
The attached Figure 9 includes the historic site operation, soil borings, and tanks/drums/debris
locations. Per our conversation, also included on this figure is the estimated extent of soi l
impacts identified at the site.
