Dear Mr. Duque,
After discussions with you regarding the Cape Fear Soccer Park, which formerly served as the
Flemington Landfill, I am formally writing to request your consideration in updating the original
brownfield agreement.
It is my hope that because of advancements in brownfield and landfill management there are some
opportunities to review the original document and make changes.
Below is a list of issues and requests, which we hope you and your staff will consider:
1. Pavement and Parking Lots – We would like the opportunity to install pavement to our parking
lot. According to the old agreement, we are not permitted to use asphalt, concrete or other
impervious materials.
2. Installation of permanent lighting – We would like the opportunity to install permanent athletic
field lighting to our park
3. The Construction of a free---standing permanent structure – We would like the opportunity to
build a permanent office or meeting structure.
Thank you for your help and discussion regarding the brownfield agreement. I look forward to working
with you as we continue to improve our soccer park.
Regards,
Carson Porter
