Dear Ms. Samaha,
Please allow this letter to serve as a written request to begin above -slab abatement and demolition
work for buildings or portions of buildings related to Wrights Executive Sales, located at 723
Rigsbee Avenue, 616 and 620 Foster Street in Durham, NC.
We understand that the EMP for this site has been submitted but not yet approved. We do not
intend to perform any sub surface work until the proper approvals are in place. We also understand
that approval by this department to begin abatement and demolition does not waive any
requirements to obtain any necessary permits, licenses, or certifications for demolitions, nor does
it waive any requirement to comply with applicable law for such activities.
Please see the attached plans for areas of work to be performed. We intend to begin work (if
approved) on May 1, 2021 and expect the Abatement and Demolition duration to last roughly 30
days. The scope of work consists of the following:
Cut, cap and make safe all utilities to be removed, interior abatement and building
demolition including but not limited to removal of all furniture, fixtures, equipment,
mechanical and electrical systems, interior partitions, rooftop equipment, windows and
doors, interior finishes, lighting, power, telecommunications, steel platforms, and stairs,
exterior walls and roofs. Note that demolition at 723 Rigsbee Avenue is selective per the
attached drawings.
