Dear Tony,
January 14, 2011
Per Brownfields Agreement between the State of North Carolina and Alberdingk Boley
Inc., this is to inform you of a planned excavation on the site located at 6008 High Point
Road, Greensboro, INC 27407. The excavation will occur sometime during the month of
January 2011.

The excavation is at a Post Indicator Valve (PIV) of the fire protection system. The PIV
location is in front of the Polymer Building which is located on north or back side of the
site. The Polymer Building has been unused since site purchase by Alberdingk Boley.
This building is planned to be demolished in March 2011. Although the building will be
removed, the building concrete foundation will remain; there will be no excavation under
the building.
To this end, the fire protection system will be eliminated. The fire water system branch
feeding the Polymer Building will be disconnected and capper below ground.
The excavation will be approximately four (4) feet deep. After the PIV feeding this
branch is closed, the six (6) inch water line will be cut and capped. After capping, the
soil from the excavation will be replaced back in the same location as removed.
Attached please find a sketch showing the Polymer Building and location of excavation
at P IV.
If the State has any concerns regarding this excavation, please contact Alexander
Snage at 336-821-5537 (office) or 336-362-9805 (cell) as soon as possible. An
acknowledgement of receipt of this email is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Alexander Snage
Vice President
