The components for the waterproofing system are out to bid at the moment and are not finalized yet. I will work on getting you more details as soon as possible. Thanks again, Analee Analee L. Michael <Mike.Hudgins@terracon.com>; Denton, Lori <Lori.Denton@terracon.com> Subject: Review of Draft VIMS Design - Fairey Finishing Plant BF Site (BF#22034-18-032) Analee, We are have completed our review of the Fairey Finishing Plant VIMS Design and have just a few comments/questions below: * Provide additional details on the VMS Waterproofing System noted at several places on the design (such as B.5 on VMS-1 and detail 20 on VMS-3). * Are the components of this system known at this time? * Will the installation of the waterproofing system be inspected by the VIMS design engineer? * Will this waterproofing system be installed instead of the asphaltic membrane or will the asphaltic membrane also be applied to the waterproofing? * We need to have a discussion on pre-occupancy sampling (either soil gas or indoor air). We can’t rely on just pressure measurements to ensure that the system is adequately protecting the occupants; however, we can use the pressure measurements and inspection documentation to reduce the amount of soil gas or indoor air sampling needed. One suggestion would be to conduct one limited pre-occupancy indoor air event (3-4 indoor air samples, plus duplicate and ambient) and analyze only for constituents detected above laboratory reporting limits in previous events. With the exception of the question about the waterproofing system, we do not have any comments or questions about the other components of the system. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, -Kelly Mr. Kelly G. Johnson, P.G.
