Water samples were collected both before and after treatment. The samples were analyzed for volatile organic compound using method 6200B. The treated groundwater samples did not contain volatile organic compounds at detectable concentrations. The untreated water samples contained volatile organic compounds at concentrations exceeding the North Carolina 2L Standards and continued treatment is necessary. A copy of the analytical report is attached. Please note that the treated sample is labeled D3 on the attached analytical report. The Underground Storage Tank Section will continue to monitor the water in the well for the presence of petroleum contaminants, and the next round of samples will be collected from the well during June 2012. The UST Section will also continue working toward connecting your home to municipal water. If you have any questions, please contact me at (919) 733-1319.
