Frances Smitherman 4145 Wilhelm Rd. Jonesville, NC 27011 RE: Access Agreement
Juanita Bryant Property 4021 Bryant Road Boonville, NC
Incident #30369 Dear Frances Smitherman:
The North Carolina Division of Waste Management (Division) is currently assessing the petroleum contamination caused by underground storage tanks formerly operated at the referenced site. Groundwater samples collected at
the site contain petroleum hydrocarbons at concentrations exceeding the North Carolina water quality standards. Municipal water is not available to residents in the area, and residents in the area rely on groundwater for household use. The UST Section will collect water samples from private wells in the area of the site for analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons when access to the property is granted by the property owner. The UST Section does not have written permission to enter your property and your well has not been sampled. The UST Section is prepared to sample your water supply well if you sign and return the enclosed access agreement. Any testing
results will be forwarded to you upon receipt.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (919) 707-8170. Sincerely,
Herbert Berger, Jr., Hydrogeologist Division of Waste Management, NCDENR
