The sample was collected from an outside spigot on the back of the house. S&ME also collected a water sample from the men’s restroom at the D&M Grocery property on June 8, 2022. The water supply well that provides water to the D&M Grocery store is located on the property that adjoins the D&M Grocery property to the west, which you also own. Prior to sample collection at each location, water was allowed to run for approximately 15 minutes. The water samples were placed into laboratory provided containers, placed into a cooler with ice and shipped to Analytical Services for analysis. The two samples were analyzed for volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 6200B. Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) was reported in the water sample collected at 6100 NC Highway 704 East at a low concentration, estimated to be 0.45 micrograms per liter (ug/l, parts per billion). The North Carolina groundwater quality standard for MTBE is 20 ug/l. S&ME provided a copy of the laboratory report to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for review. Based on the reported results, water from the well located at 6100 NC Highway 704 East is safe to use. The laboratory analysis did not detect targeted compounds in the sample collected from the men’s restroom at the D&M Grocery. A copy of the laboratory report is attached. If you have any questions regarding the laboratory analysis, please call Wayne Watterson at (336) 908- 7653. Sincerely, S&ME, Inc. Lyndal Butler Wayne H. Watterson, P.E. ND - Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit. TNTC - Too Numerous To Count J - Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit. MDL - Adjusted Method Detection Limit. PQL - Practical Quantitation Limit. RL - Reporting Limit - The lowest concentration value that meets project requirements for quantitative data with known precision and bias for a specific analyte in a specific matrix. S - Surrogate 1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270. The result for each analyte is a combined concentration. Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values. LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate) MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate) DUP - Sample Duplicate RPD - Relative Percent Difference NC - Not Calculable. SG - Silica Gel - Clean-Up U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected. Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether. A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA Method 8260. N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for each analyte is a combined concentration. Reported results are not rounded until the final step prior to reporting. Therefore, calculated parameters that are typically reported as "Total" may vary slightly from the sum of the reported component parameters. Pace Analytical is TNI accredited. Contact your Pace PM for the current list of accredited analytes. TNI - The NELAC Institute. ANALYTE QUALIFIERS Matrix spike recovery exceeded QC limits. Batch accepted based on laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery.M1 The EPA or method required sample preservation degrades this compound, therefore acceptable recoveries may not be achieved in sample matrix spikes.P5 REPORT OF LABORATORY ANALYSIS This report shall not be reproduced, except in full, without the written consent of Pace Analytical Services, LLC.Date: 06/13/2022 03:47 PM Pace Analytical Services, LLC 9800 Kincey Ave. Suite 100 Huntersville, NC 28078 (704)875-9092 Page 17 of 21 #=CR# QUALITY CONTROL DATA CROSS REFERENCE TABLE Pace Project No.: Project: 92608565 22580285 Ph A Lab ID Sample ID QC Batch Method QC Batch Analytical Method Analytical Batch 92608565001 7037196100 Well SM 6200B 92608565002 7037196066 Well SM 6200B REPORT OF LABORATORY ANALYSIS This report shall not be reproduced, except in full, without the written consent of Pace Analytical Services, LLC.Date: 06/13/2022 03:47 PM Pace Analytical Services, LLC 9800 Kincey Ave. Suite 100 Huntersville, NC 28078 (704)875-9092 Page 18 of 21 Page 19 of 21 Page 20 of 21 Page 21 of 21
