As part of the assessment activities being conducted at the site, the Division has collected samples from the water supply wells at your property. The most recent samples were collected on June 5, 2008. The samples collected from the wells at your property were analyzed for volatile organic compounds using EPA Method 601/602. A copy of the analytical report is attached for your review. Your wells are denoted as WSW-4 and WSW-4R on the analytical report. Based on the analytical tests performed on the samples, water from the wells contained volatile organic compounds at concentrations exceeding the North Carolina Administrative Code Subchapter 2L Standards, and the water is unfit for consumption. According to information available to the Division of Waste Management, your home is connected to a municipal water supply system and the aforementioned wells are used solely for irrigation purposes. However, the Division prepared to permanently abandon the irrigation wells at no cost to you to reduce the potential for exposure to the chemicals present in the wells. If you have any questions, please contact me at (919) 733-1319. Sincerely, Herbert Berger, Jr. Hydrogeologist Trust Fund Branch Enclosures Analytical report C: Glen L.
