Dear Mr. Roberts The North Carolina Division of Waste Management (Division) is currently assessing the petroleum
contamination caused by underground storage tanks formerly operated at the referenced site. As part of the assessment activities being conducted at the site, the Division has collected a sample from the water supply well at your property on January 12, 2013. The samples collected from the wells at your property were analyzed for volatile organic compounds using EPA Method 6200B. Based on the analytical tests performed on the samples, water from the wells contained benzene at a concentration of 55.5 micrograms per liter. The Division will perform a health risk evaluation of the testing results, and the health risk evaluation will be forwarded to you upon completion.
