Dear Mr. Roberts The purpose of this letter is to follow up my January 25, 2013 correspondence regarding water samples
collected from the supply well at your property in the vicinity of the former Warf Airport. As per my January 25, 2013 letter, the North Carolina Division of Waste Management (Division) performed a health risk evaluation (HRE) of the testing results. According to the HRE, the water is not recommended for any residential use at this time. The Division is prepared to provide you with an alternative source of safe water. Information available to the Division indicates that municipal water is available in the area of your property, and the Division is prepared to connect your property to the waterline. The connection costs will be covered by the Division, provided that you agree to pay the municipality for the monthly water usage. A standard waterline connection agreement is attached for your signature. In the meantime, the UST Section is prepared to install a filtrations system at your home to remove the petroleum hydrocarbons from the well.
