Hilgendorf 5171 Carlson Dairy Road Summerfield, NC 27358 Re: Groundwater Sampling Results Related to Wilson’s Grocery B 5178 Carlson Dairy Rd Summerfield, Guilford County – WSRO STF Incident # 22253 Dear Mr. Hilgendorf: In 1989, a petroleum release was detected at the referenced gas station during tank removal activities. The site was recommended to the State-Lead Cleanup Program in 2003, and we have been monitoring the groundwater quality in the vicinity since then. As part of our monitoring program, your well was sampled on June 9, 2020 by S&ME personnel on behalf of the NC Department of Environmental Quality. The water sample was analyzed for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), which include a wide range of man-made compounds including, but not limited to, gasoline components. No petroleum compounds, or any other targeted compounds, were detected in your supply well. The lab results are attached for your review, and your sample was identified SW-2. If you have any questions, please contact me at (919) 707-8166 or sharon.ghiold@ncdenr.gov.
