Dear Ms. Oseguera:

ATC Associates of North Carolina, P.C. (ATC) submits this Well Abandonment Letter Report for the former
Steve Walker Buick site located at 1011 E. Dixie Drive in Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina. The
work was performed in accordance with the December 13, 2022, Task Authorization (TA-02) authorized by the
Trust Fund Branch of the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Section, Division of Waste Management North
Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ). The work was performed as part of the State Lead
Contract #N122019A between the NCDEQ and ATC.

The former Steve Walker Buick site is located at 1011 E. Dixie Drive in Asheboro, Randolph County, North
Carolina. The site is currently developed with Strider Buick car dealership and formerly utilized one 550-gallon
gasoline UST. A site topographic map is included as Figure 1 and a site map depicting pertinent site features
is included as Figure 2. ATC submitted a Limited Site Assessment Report on November 18, 2022. Based on
the results of the activities, ATC concluded the site qualifies for a “Low” risk classification and recommended
site closure.

On February 9, 2023, Regional Probing Services, an NC-certified well contractor (Certification Number 3322)
abandoned monitoring well MW-1, the only well associated with the site, as part of site closure activities in
accordance with North Carolina statue 15A NCAC 02C .0113. Bentonite chips were placed into the wells to
above the measured water table, and the remainder of the well casing was filled with grout. A summary of the
monitoring well information is included in Table 1. A copy of the well abandonment record is provided in
Appendix A and photographs of the pre- and post-abandonment well conditions are provided in Appendix B.
