Dear Mr. Peacock:
On behalf of Dura Supreme Cabinets (Dura), Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) is
pleased to submit this Environmental Management Plan (EMP) Addendum for the above
referenced site. Dura is in the process of upfitting the existing warehouse building located
at the site for its manufacturing operations. To facilitate these upfits, Terracon previousl y
completed an EMP outlining the protocols for the management of potential environmental
impacts that might be encountered during Dura’s proposed upfits, which at the time
consisted of the removal and replacement of portions of the concrete foundation slab of
the warehouse building as well as associated soil excavation necessary to accommodate
thicker sections of replacement concrete. The EMP was submitted to the North Carolina
Brownfields Redevelopment Section (BRS), which approved the EMP on April 14, 2023.
Dura has identified two additional proposed property modifications that will involve soil
disturbance at the site:
1) The installation of a concrete apron in the northwestern portion of the site, as
shown on Figure 1 and Figure 2, to accommodate tractor trailer parking
operations.
2) The installation of a fiberoptic cable line to provide additional internet bandwidth
to the office area in the southwestern portion of the building.
At the present time, the fiberoptic cable line installation project is still in its planning
phase, and it is not known whether the installation methodology will generate soil cuttings
