Trade Street Winston-Salem, Forsyth County Brownfields Project No. 24050-20-034 Dear Mr. McClatchey, The NC Department of Environmental Quality’s Brownfields Redevelopment Section (DEQ Brownfields) received and reviewed the October 2022 Sub-Slab Soil Vapor Sampling Report dated February 20, 2023, and the March 2023 Sub-Slab Soil Vapor Sampling Report dated May 15, 2023, submitted on your behalf by Ms. Laura Elliot with Terracon Consultants. DEQ Brownfields reviewed the Reports and evaluated the data using the DEQ Risk Calculator. The calculated risks for sub-slab vapor are below the DEQ thresholds for residential use. DEQ Brownfields finds that the sampling was conducted in accordance with the DEQ-approved Sub- Slab Soil Vapor Sampling Work Plan dated September 20, 2022, and satisfies Land-Use Restriction 13.k of the Notice of Brownfields Property recorded July 21, 2022. As a condition of this determination, sample points SV-2 and SV-4 are to be re-sampled in the summer of 2023. Be advised that this approval from DEQ Brownfields does not waive any applicable requirement to obtain any necessary permits, licenses, or certifications for the above referenced activities nor does it waive any requirement to comply with applicable law for such activities.
