Dear Mr. Rogers:
Waters Edge Environmental, LLC (Waters Edge) is pleased to submit this report
summarizing the quarterly influent/effluent sampling event conducted on April 29, 2016
at the Takada facility located in Kernersville, North Carolina. The influent and effluent
were grab sampled as specified in the NCDEQ; Division of Water Quality permit number
WQ0006751. The influent detected 47,010 ug/L total VOCs with the only constituents
being toluene (46,600 ug/L) and tetrachloroethene (PCE- 410 ug/L). The effluent .
detected 910 ug/L toluene for a removal efficiency of 99.98% and the effluent is above
the North Carolina Groundwater Standard at 2.7 ug/L (NCGS at 0.7 ug/L). We would
also comment that the PCE may be from an offsite source not related to this facilityWe
have included Form GW-59 in Appendix A and documentation in Appendix B. These
forms have also been submitted to the NCDEQ Central Files located in Raleigh, North
Carolina.

QUALIFIERS
Pace Project No.:
Project:
92296229
RI-KERNERSVILLE R1-06
DEFINITIONS
DF - Dilution Factor, if reported, represents the factor applied to the reported data due to dilution of the sample aliquot.
ND - Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit.
J - Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit.
MDL - Adjusted Method Detection Limit.
PQL - Practical Quantitation Limit.
RL - Reporting Limit.
S - Surrogate
1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270. The result for each analyte is
a combined concentration.
Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values.
LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate)
MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate)
DUP - Sample Duplicate
RPD - Relative Percent Difference
NC - Not Calculable.
SG - Silica Gel - Clean-Up
U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected.
Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether, Styrene, and Vinyl chloride.
A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA
Method 8260.
N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for
each analyte is a combined concentration.
Pace Analytical is TNI accredited. Contact your Pace PM for the current list of accredited analytes.
TNI - The NELAC Institute.
