(GRI) presents the results of the ground water sampling event at the Community Stop #2 site in Maxton, North Carolina. The activities were conducted in response to the August 18, 2022, correspondence from NCDEQ. On November 11, 2022, two monitoring wells (MW-2 and MW-16) were gauged purged and sampled per NCDEQ guidelines. Depths to ground water for MW-2 and MW-16 were 7.66 and 8.16 feet below the tops of well casings, respectively. Ground water samples were submitted for analyses of VOCs plus oxygenates by EPA Method 6200B. A laboratory supplied trip blank was also submitted for analyses of VOCs using EPA Method 6200B. A Site Location Map, Site Map and Site Vicinity Map have been included as Figures 1, 2 and 3. Please see the attached laboratory report for the results of the November 2022 ground water sampling event. Concentrations of BTEX constituents, MTBE, naphthalene, isopropylbenzene, di-isopropyl ether, methylene chloride, n-propylbenzene, styrene, 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene and/or 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene that exceeded the Maximum Allowable Concentrations as specified in T15A NCAC 2L.0202 were reported in the ground water samples collected from MW-2 and MW-16. The concentration of benzene reported in MW-2 exceeded the Gross Contamination Level. A copy of the laboratory report is attached. Please contact me at 704-698-1250 or wlr@geologicalresourcesinc.com with any questions or comments.
