Photo 1: Southern entrance to former Singer Furniture Plant facing southwest. Both gates
were locked at the time of the Site Inspection
The Site Inspection was performed while inspecting several other Brownfield properties
in Lenoir NC. The property consists of heavily wooded portions on the southern portion
of the property, and former asphalt paved parking areas bordering the eastern side of the
property. No structures or concrete building slabs were visible from the perimeter of the
property; however, Google Earth aerial view shows that extensive concrete building slabs
were present as of recently, with no indication that they have been removed. No sign of
dumping or other activities were observed during the Site Inspection.
