Small vestibule area adjacent to northern retail space that contains VIMS suction piping and sub-slab monitoring point; a significant amount of soil and debris were observed in this mitigated area and additional gravel and barrier installation will be required prior to pouring concrete if this area is enclosed as shown in the VIMS design (Photo 1). VIMS barriers within pour-back areas not completed, with a significant amount of material and debris located on top of barrier material (Photos 6 & 7), and the VIMS barrier has not been installed within the former mill building elevator shaft (Photo 8). The new construction apartment building is almost complete, with carpeting installed within common hallways around the sub-slab monitoring point access covers (Photo 9). Summary: N/A Summary: Renovated former mill building (mixed use retail/apartments), and new construction apartment building are present on the property. Both buildings were inspected during the site visit. In addition, there is a soil contact wall present on the northern end of the new apartment building. Summary: N/A Condition: Summary: N/A At the time of the inspection, neither building was observed to be occupied. Entire perimeter of property is surrounded by temporary chain link construction fencing at the time of the Site Inspection. PHOTOGRAPHS Photo 1: Vestibule area with VIMS piping installed adjacent to northern retail area. Elevator shaft CMU wall located on the other side of brick wall in the background. Horizontal VIMS suction pipe and monitoring point located within debris. The Site Inspection was performed at supervisor’s request to determine the condition of vestibule area outside northern retail area, condition of common area within former mill building, confirm location of pool equipment room, and general condition of the VIMS at the property. During the inspection, it was determined that the elevator shaft within the former mill building does not currently have any VIMS components installed although they are proposed in the DEQ approved VIMP (Photo 8).
