HomeMy WebLinkAboutDilworth Auto SNI 20221118SUMMARY OF NOTICE OFINTENT TO REDEVELOP A BROWNFIELDS PROPERTYSite Name: Dilworth Auto ServiceBrownfields Project Number:24051-20-060Pursuant to NCGS § 130A-310.34,South End Property Owning Sub, LLC, as Prospective Developer, has filed with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) a Notice of Intent to Redevelop a Brownfields Property in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The Brownfields Propertyis the former site of Dilworth Auto Service, a gas station, and other automotive repair facilities,consists of 1.128 acres, and is located at 1714 South Boulevard. Environmental contamination exists on the BrownfieldsProperty in soil, groundwater, and soil gas. South End Property Owning Sub, LLChas committed itself to redevelop the Brownfields Property for no uses other thanhigh-density residential,office, retail, restaurant, distillery, brewery or food production facility, recreation, institutional, entertainment, hotel, open space, parking, and with DEQ’s prior written approval, other commercial uses. The Notice of Intent to Redevelop a Brownfields Property includes: (1) a proposed Brownfields Agreement between DEQ andSouth End Property Owning Sub, LLC, which in turn includes (a) a map showing the location of the Brownfields Property, (b) a description of the contaminants involved and their concentrations in the media of the Brownfields Property, (c) the above-stated description of the intended future use of the BrownfieldsProperty, and (d) proposedinvestigation and remediation;and (2) a proposed Notice of Brownfields Property prepared in accordance with NCGS § 130A-310.35.
