Met with construction superintendent to confirm that a hardcopy of EMP was present on-site, and a bound copy was produced from within the construction trailer. PHOTOGRAPHS Photo 1: View of Townhome development facing north. The VIMS barrier installation looked good, with only a couple of areas identified that required additional taping. During the inspection, it was observed that a significant amount of the tape utilized on Building 4 was manufactured by Stego Wrap and it was being used with a competitor’s vapor barrier – VaporBlock VB-20 (Photos 2-5). The project engineer was out of the office; however, I spoke with Andrew Besu with H&H and the project engineer had contacted both barrier manufacturers to confirm this was not an issue. It was determined that even though Stego Industries would not warranty the work, it would meet the manufacturers specifications and the developer was willing to accept the loss of the manufacturer’s warranty. Following an internal DEQ discussion, it was determined this was acceptable with the Design Engineers sign-off.
