SHIELD ENGINEERING 85 Kwik Mart Monitoring Report Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina September 30, 2021 Incident#: 13401 Page 4 2.0 CONCLUSIONS • Dissolved phase constituents of concern were detected in concentrations exceeding the NCDEQ NCAC 15A 2L.0202 standards (2L Standards) in monitoring wells MW-4A, MW- 5, and DW-1, as well as water supply well WSW -Ring Power Crane during the February 2021 sampling event. • 1, 2-dichloroethane (1, 2-DCA) was detected over the NCDEQ gross contaminant level (GCL) in monitoring well MW-5. • Free product was not detected during this monitoring period. 0 When compared to the February 2021 sampling event, the overall concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) has increased in monitoring well MW-4A. • When compared to the February 2021 sampling event, the overall concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) has decreased in monitoring wells MW-5 and DW-1. 0 The 1,2-DCA concentration in water supply well WSW -Ring Power Crane has increased above the 2L Standard. 0 Dissolved phase constituents of concern have increased above laboratory analytical detection limits but continue to remain below the 2L Standards for the sample collected from monitoring well MW-8AR during the September 2021 sampling event. 3.0 RECOMMENDATIONS Continue sampling of groundwater on a semi-annual basis as required by the NCDEQ in the NORR dated July 18, 2013 [MW-4A, MW-5, MW-8AR, MW-15A (if possible) and DW-1 ] and include the sampling of WSW -Ring Power Crane, with the next event report due by March 31, 2022. Looking at the historical groundwater analytical results for MW-15A, Shield recommends drilling another monitoring well in place of MW-15A. Page 25 of 30 aur%.- Acal www.pacelabs.com QUALIFIERS Project: 85 KWIK MARTY 1090060-34 Pace Project No.: 92559476 DEFINITIONS DF - Dilution Factor, if reported, represents the factor applied to the reported data due to dilution of the sample aliquot. ND - Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit. TNTC - Too Numerous To Count J - Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit. MDL -Adjusted Method Detection Limit. Pace Analytical Services, LLC 9800 Kincey Ave. Suite 100 Huntersville, NC 28078 (704)875-9092 PQL - Practical Quantitation Limit. RL - Reporting Limit - The lowest concentration value that meets project requirements for quantitative data with known precision and bias for a specific analyte in a specific matrix. S - Surrogate 1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270. The result for each analyte is a combined concentration. Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values. LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate) MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate) DUP - Sample Duplicate RPD - Relative Percent Difference NC - Not Calculable. SG - Silica Gel - Clean -Up U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected. Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether. A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA Method 8260. N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for each analyte is a combined concentration, Reported results are not rounded until the final step prior to reporting. Therefore, calculated parameters that are typically reported as "Total" may vary slightly from the sum of the reported component parameters. Pace Analytical is TNI accredited. Contact your Pace PM for the current list of accredited analytes. TN -The NELAC Institute. ANALYTE QUALIFIERS C8 Result may be biased high due to carryover from previously analyzed sample_ M1 Matrix spike recovery exceeded QC limits.
