(Geo-Hydro) has completed waste soil characterization and disposal for the above referenced location. This scope of work was performed in accordance with our phone and email correspondence on May 25, 2021. This summary includes findings, our opinions, and conclusions founded on our field observations and the laboratory analytical report. PROJECT BACKGROUND The subject property is located at 315 N Patterson Avenue (PIN 6835-37-5026.00) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (site). The site is included within the Central District of the Piedmont Triad Research Park Brownfields Site (number 09068-05-034). Geo-Hydro was contracted by Front Street Capital to perform a geotechnical evaluation at the site. The soil characterization and disposal scope of work was developed according to the Land Use Restrictions numbers 2 and 3 in the Notice of Brownfields Property dated February 22, 2010 pertaining to soil management at the site. SOIL CHARACTERIZATION AND DISPOSAL The geotechnical evaluation was performed from May 24 to 27, 2021. Eleven test borings were advanced by Capital Drilling, Inc. to drilling refusal, with total depths ranging from 68 to 80 feet below ground surface (bgs). Boring locations are presented in Figure 1 in Appendix 1. Soil cuttings accumulated from boring advancement were immediately containerized in 55-gallon drums to prevent groundwater leachate from draining from the saturated soils. A total of 20 drums of soil cuttings were produced. The geotechnical borings were abandoned by Capital Drilling, Inc. with a bentonite grout mixture and completed with asphalt at ground surface. Two composite samples (one per 10 drums) were collected for waste characterization. The samples were collected in laboratory provided containers, placed on ice, and transported under chain of custody to Pace 3517 Avalon Avenue Phase I ESA ● Charlotte, North Carolina Project Number 210287.30 June 6, 2021 │ 2 Analytical in Huntersville, NC for analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) EPA method 8260D and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) diesel range organics (DRO) by EPA method 8015C. Analytical results did not indicate detections above laboratory reporting limits. The complete laboratory analytical report is included in Appendix 2. The drums were collected from the site by Evo Corporation and transported to their licensed facility for disposal. A transportation manifest and certificate of disposal are included in Appendix 3. Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values. A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA Method 8260. N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for each analyte is a combined concentration. Pace Analytical is TNI accredited.
