The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Brownfields Program received and reviewed the Occupancy Request Report_Rev 1 dated May 17, 2021 submitted on your behalf by ECS Southeast, LLP and the #S19008
JW Marriott Hotel Vapor Mitigation System Certification Report dated March 25, 2021 but received on May 25, 2021 prepared by EAI South (Reports). DEQ Brownfields understands this structure is being developed by Marlotte Hotel, LLC as a J W Marriott Hotel in accordance with the Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Design –dated August 26, 2019 (VIMD). DEQ Brownfields reviewed the analytical data, installation summary information provided in the Reports, and evaluated the analytical data using the DEQ Risk Calculator. The results of this evaluation were below the DEQ thresholds for non-
residential and residential use. Based on the available data, DEQ Brownfields has determined that the above referenced structure is currently in compliance with Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and with Land Use Restriction 2 of the Notice of Brownfields Property.
DEQ Brownfields understands, ongoing monitoring and assessment shall be conducted in accordance with the VIMD and the subsequent Compliance Review Letter dated August 30, 2019. Please be advised that this approval from DEQ
Brownfields does not waive any applicable requirement to obtain any necessary permits, licenses or certifications which may be required from other state or local entities.
