have been torn down with exception of multi-level driving range at rear of property.
Demolition company not on-site the day of the inspection.

Summary: Stockpiled soils adjacent to a 32' diameter utility shaft. Shaft will be excavated
to a depth of approximately 21 feet bls. At that depth, a horizontal boring machine will
be lowered into the shaft and bore an approximately 60" borehole below S. Tryon and
the Yorkshire Dr. Brownfield site, to cross street to the east.

Site perimeter enclosed by temporary construction fencing, and concrete barricades
along S. Tryon St. No current exposure observed to general public at the time of the site
inspection.

Requested to see copy of EMP for work being performed at the site, and one was not
available at the site. The job superintendent made it clear one would be brought out to
the site the following day.

V. PHOTOGRAPHS

Photo 1: Demolition actively underway at former Stax Gym property. Demolition company not
on-site during the site inspection. Building slabs not disturbed at time of Site Inspection.

Met with Mr. Mark Witherspoon, site superintendent – Sanders Utility Construction Co.
on-site. Excavating to 32’ shaft to approximate depth of 20 feet bgs at which point, a 60”
dia. hole will be bored to the east below S. Tryon and Yorkshire Drive site to connect to
existing utility lines. Groundwater encountered will be pumped into frac tanks, and
tested before disposal. Excavated soil is being stockpiled, will be used to refill vertical
shaft following completion of utility installation. Horizontal soil generated during
horizontal slurry drilling will fall out of slurry into sealed containers prior to being tested
and disposed of at landfill.
