Automation Brownfields Property Charlotte, Mecklenburg County Brownfields Project No. 02002-98-060 Dear Mr. Walker: The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Brownfields Program received and reviewed your letter dated August 31, 2020 requesting additional information related to the potential transaction of the above-referenced Brownfields Property. DEQ Brownfields concurs with the interpretations of the Notice of Brownfields Property as outlined in the letter regarding current owner obligations, existing land use restrictions, planned reuse, and additional assessment. As part of the anticipated change in use request to include residential reuse, an amendment to the Brownfields Agreement would be necessary. Please be advised that this concurrence from DEQ Brownfields does not waive any applicable requirement to obtain any necessary permits, licenses or certifications which may be required from other state or local entities.
