Send all suspicious email as an to reoort.spamPnc. oovv Sharon I wanted to give you a real-time update on the construction schedule for SM 2 and information on a candidate location for excess fill: the closed City of Raleigh MSW landfill along N New Hope Rd. SCHEDULE Details • Week of April 1 Take up paving, building slabs and other impervious surfaces. Plan is to retain materials, crush and reuse onsite • April 8 - 15 Construct E&S controls and begin work on utilities. Some ground disturbance but no export of fill or other materials • Week of April 22 Begin mass grading with excess fill export. We will have our assessment results, including the insitu soil testing of cut areas, prior to starting fill export EXCESS FILL Clancy & Theys has an agreement in principle with the City of Raleigh to take unimpacted excess fill from SH2 for reuse as permanent cover and for maintenance activities at the closed MSW landfill that is adjacent to the city's yard waste facility at 900 N New Hope Road in Raleigh. The landfill operator needs working fill for maintenance and to deal with landfill subsidence which occurs over time. Excess fill from construction sites is routinely used in this manner. I'm assuming that this is a suitable, appropriate approach for the excess fill. Can you let me know if you or Solid Waste needs anything further? I spoke to John Ennis, Solid Waste Operations and Compliance Supervisor, City of Raleigh, John. Ennis(@raleighnc.gov, 919.418.7201. John was informed that the material will originate from a site participating in the Brownfields Program and this was acceptable. Thanks, John
