Dear Patrick:
Based on the Redevelopment Summary Report dated January 21, 2019, the North Carolina
Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Brownfields Program understands that occupancy
of the nearly completed self-storage facility is anticipated to begin in June 2019. DEQ Brownfields
evaluated the available groundwater analytical data using the DEQ Risk Calculator as it relates to
vapor intrusion and Land Use Restriction 6 of the Notice of Brownfields Property (NBP). The
results of this evaluation were below the DEQ thresholds for non-residential use. Therefore, the
Brownfields Property is currently in compliance with Land Use Restriction 6 of the NBP.
Please be advised that this approval from DEQ Brownfields does not waive any applicable
requirement to obtain any necessary permits, licenses or certifications which may be required from
other state or local entities. Please note, this approval does not apply to future redevelopments or
changes in land use on the Brownfields Property. If you have any questions, please feel free to
