Former Southern Manufacturing Project/ NC Music Factory 1000 Seaboard Street
Charlotte, Mecklenburg County Brownfields Project Number 05016-01-60
Dear Mr. Box: The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has received
your May 2, 2013 Notification of Encroachment at the above referenced brownfields site. The
Notification included a site plan, Asbestos Impacted Soil Management letter dated April 22, 2013 prepared by Hart & Hickman, and Preliminary Site Assessment for Mecklenburg County Maintenance
Garage-Parcel 40 dated April 22, 2013 prepared by Hart & Hickman. Based on the site plan, the
encroachment on the brownfields property is minor, less than 400 square feet. The scope of work included in the Notification is acceptable and approved.

Be advised that this approval from the Brownfields Program does not waive any applicable requirement to obtain any necessary permits, licenses or certifications for the above listed activities nor
does it waive any requirement to comply with applicable law for such activities. If you have any
