OVERALL CONSTRUCTION PHASING NOTES
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE HIMSELF PROFICIENT IN THE BASE AND ADD ALTERNATES OF THIS PROJECT INCLUDING THE SCOPES OF WORK FOR EACH, SEQUENCE OF AND
REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE STAGING AND STORAGE AREA THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT. THE STAGING AND STORAGE AREA SHALL BE
RESTORED TO PRE -PROJECT CONDITION AT THE END OF THE PROJECT.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN POSITIVE DRAINAGE THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT AND WITHIN BASE BID OR ADD ALTERNATES.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE BASE BID OR ADD ALTERNATE (IN ORDER) PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE NEXT CONSECUTIVE PHASE OF WORK.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A DETAILED SCHEDULE FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK SHOWING UNDERSTANDING OF THE REQUIRED PHASING REQUIREMENTS.
6. SPECIFIC PHASING REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE PER REQUIREMENTS BELOW:
PARKING LOT A
a. PARKING LOT A IS SEPARATED INTO PHASE Al (PARKING LOT A NORTH) AND PHASE A2 (PARKING LOT A SOUTH). THE LIMITS OF THE PHASES ARE THE AREA SHOWN ON
THIS PLAN.
b. THE INTENT FOR PARKING LOT A IS THAT THE CONTRACTOR COMPLETES PARKING LOT A NORTH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND SUCH THAT THE AIRPORT CAN TAKE
OWNERSHIP PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF PARKING LOT A SOUTH AND THE COMPLETION OF THE 75 CALENDAR DAYS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A DETAILED
SCHEDULE FOR THE COMPLETION OF PARKING LOT A NORTH AND SOUTH.
c. THE SEDIMENT/DETENTION BASIN SHALL BE INSTALLED DURING PHASE Al, HOWEVER, IT SHALL BE MAINTAINED AS REQUIRED UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF BOTH PHASES
OF PARKING LOT A.
d. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ACCESS VIA THE EXISTING PAVED ROAD OR TEMPORARY GRAVEL ROAD CONSTRUCTED BY THE CONTRACTOR TO THE FAA WIND
SHEAR TOWER EXCEPT AS ALLOWED BY AVL AND FAA ON A PREAPPROVED BASIS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A PLAN TO AVL FOR APPROVAL ON HOW ACCESS TO
THE FAA WIND SHEAR TOWER WOULD BE MAINTAINED AND A SCHEDULE FOR WHEN ACCESS WOULD BE LIMITED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. COST OF THIS WORK
SHALL BE CONSIDERED INCIDENTAL TO THE PROJECT.
PARKING LOT B
a. PARKING LOT B SHALL BE COMPLETED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOT A, BUT PRIOR TO STARTING WORK IN PARKING LOT C.
b. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY AVL A MINIMUM OF 7 DAYS PRIOR TO STARTING WORK IN PARKING LOT B IN ORDER FOR AVL TO COORDINATE THE CLOSURE OF THE
EXISTING GRAVEL PARKING LOT.
PARKING LOT C
