Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.eov Isaiah and Jeff, Since the accidental fire on April 28, 2019 that damaged part of our facility, AZP has made significant efforts to minimize any adverse impacts and to otherwise ensure the protection of human health and the environment. These measures have included management of the fire water used to contain and control the fire. In accordance with the Department's request, we have contained that fire water in the retention basin at the facility, limiting discharge to the River to circumstances where heavy rainfall has dictated the need for discharge. In addition, as also discussed with the Department, we have collected samples of the collected water and analyzed these samples for relevant parameters. As you requested, we have compiled that analytic data (for Cadmium, Lead and Zinc) in the following table for your review. The collected data reflect that the concentrations of relevant parameters that we are currently measuring in the basin are generally consistent with our established (baseline) discharge levels from the basin, except with respect to more elevated concentrations of zinc. Because of the assimilation of water in the basin, water collected from the basin is more representative of actual conditions at this time.
