11. MONITOR THE ACCUMULATION OF SEDIMENTATION ANNUALLY. SEDIMENT IS TO BE REMOVED FROM
THE PERMANENT POOL WHEN THE VOLUME HAS BEEN REDUCED BY2596. SIMILARLY, SEDIMENT |8TD

2. IF "IN SITU" SOILS ARE TO BE USED THEN A SOIL ANALYSIS WILL NEED TO BE CONDUCTED
BY A LICENSED GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER TO VERIFY THAT THE ONSITE SOIL IS ADEQUATE TO
ENSURE HEALTHY PLANT GROWTH AND PROPER INFILTRATION THROUGH THE SOIL. THE FOLLOWING

8. BOTTOM OF BASIN TO BE GRADED TO ALLOW MIN. 0.50% SLOPE TOWARD OUTLET STRUCTURE.
9. DUE TO THE DIFFERENCE IN THE DISCHARGE PIPE INVERT VERSUS THE BOTTOM OF POND ELEVATION,
THE OUTLET STRUCTURE IS TO BE FILLED WITH CONCRETE TO AN ELEVATION EQUAL WITH THE
PERMANENT POOL.
10. THE WET POND MUST BE CONSTRUCTED OF LOW PERMEABILITY SOILS TO MAINTAIN THE PERMANENT
POOL ELEVATION. THE USE OF A CLAY LINER, GEOMEMBRANE OR GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER WILL BE
REQUIRED SHOULD THE NATIVE SOILS (IN-SITU MATERIALS) DEMONSTRATE THE INABILITY TO MEET THE
REQUIRED LINER PARAMETERS -NATIVE SOILS AS TESTED BY A LICENSED GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER.
ALTERNATIVE LINERS SHALL BE APPROVED ON A CASE-BY-CASE. LINER SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OR
COMPACTED SUCH THAT THE INFILTRATION RATE IS NO MORE THAN 0.01 IN/HR
11. IF "IN-SITU" SOILS ARE TO BE USED, THEN A SOIL ANALYSIS SHALL BE CONDUCTED BY A LICENSED
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER TO VERIFY THAT THE ONSITE SOILS (RESIDUAL AND FILL) CONTAIN LOW
PERMEABILITY PROPERTIES SUFFICIENT TO RETAIN WATER WITHIN THE STRUCTURE. IT IS HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED THAT THE IN-SITU SOILS BE TESTED FOR HYDRAULIC CONDUCTIVITY & INFILTRATION
RATE.
12. ANY SOILS THAT ARE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BMP MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING

1. ONCE THE SITE AND CONTRIBUTING UPLAND DRAINAGE AREA HAS BEEN STABILIZED, ALL
CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS/SILT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE POND AND THE PERMANENT STORAGE
VOLUME/DEPTH SHALL BE ESTABLISHED AND VERIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED
DESIGN (POND SHALL BE AS -BUILT VIA FIELD SURVEY AND VERIFIED BY THE DESIGN ENGINEER OR
EQUAL).
2. POND SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED, INCLUDING THE INSTALLATION OF ANY REQUIRED LINERS,
STRUCTURES AND VEGETATION PLANTINGS AS SPECIFIED WITHIN THE DESIGN DOCUMENTS.
3. UPON COMPLETION OF POND CONSTRUCTION, THE POND SHALL BE FILLED WITH WATER UP TO THE
PERMANENT POOL ELEVATION. FILLING OF THE PERMANENT POOL SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH
CITY OF STATESVILLE, POOL CAN EITHER BE FILLED VIA NATURAL RAINFALL OR WITH POTABLE
WATER.
4. POND SHALL BE MAINTAINED AS SPECIFIED AND MAINTENANCE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
OWNER.
5, THE PROPERTY OWNER AND/OR HOA WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ANNUAL INSPECTION OF
STORMWATER BMP'S.
6. THE GRASS SIDE SLOPES SHALL BE MOWED MONTHLY, OR AS NEEDED.
7. TREES AND INVASIVE SPECIES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM WITHIN THE POND AND ON THE
EMBANKMENTS ON A SEMI-ANNUAL BASIS,
8. TRASH SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE INSIDE OF, AND AROUND THE POND OUTLET STRUCTURE AND
THE STRUCTURE SHALL BE EXAMINED FOR DAMAGES ANNUALLY,
9. THE OUTLET STRUCTURE ORIFICES ARE TO BE CLEANED AND UNCLOGGED MONTHLY, OR
IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING LARGER STORM EVENTS.
10. THE OUTLET PIPE IS TO BE INSPECTED, CLEANED, AND REPAIRED AS NEEDED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS.
11. MONITOR THE ACCUMULATION OF SEDIMENTATION ANNUALLY. SEDIMENT IS TO BE REMOVED FROM
THE PERMANENT POOL WHEN THE VOLUME HAS BEEN REDUCED BY 25%. SIMILARLY, SEDIMENT IS TO
BE REMOVED FROM THE FOREBAY WHEN THE VOLUME HAS BEEN REDUCED BY 50%.
12. THE POND BOTTOM SHALL BE MAINTAINED TO PROVIDE PROPER DRAINAGE TOWARDS OUTLET
STRUCTURE. (0.5% MIN BOTTOM SLOPE).
13. ENERGY DISSIPATORS ARE TO BE INSPECTED, CLEANED, AND REPAIRED AS NEEDED.
14. REPAIRS TO THE POND BERMS, SIDE SLOPES, OR ANY ERODED AREAS SHALL BE ADDRESSED
ANNUALLY OR AS NEEDED.
15. MANAGEMENT OF ALL VEGETATION SHOULD BE MONITORED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS TO ENSURE
PROPER PLANT LIFE IS MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.
16. CITY OF STATESVILLE MUST BE NOTIFIED IN WRITING OF ANY CHANGES IN MAINTENANCE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STORMWATER DEVICES AT THE SITE,

1. ONCE THE SITE AND CONTRIBUTING UPLAND DRAINAGE AREA HAS BEEN STABILIZED, ALL
CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS/SILT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE POND AND THE PERMANENT STORAGE
VOLUME/DEPTH SHALL BE ESTABLISHED AND VERIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED
DESIGN (POND SHALL BE AS -BUILT VIA FIELD SURVEY AND VERIFIED BY THE DESIGN ENGINEER OR
EQUAL).
2. POND SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED, INCLUDING THE INSTALLATION OF ANY REQUIRED LINERS,
STRUCTURES AND VEGETATION PLANTINGS AS SPECIFIED WITHIN THE DESIGN DOCUMENTS.
3. UPON COMPLETION OF POND CONSTRUCTION, THE POND SHALL BE FILLED WITH WATER UP TO THE
PERMANENT POOL ELEVATION. FILLING OF THE PERMANENT POOL SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH
CITY OF STATESVILLE, POOL CAN EITHER BE FILLED VIA NATURAL RAINFALL OR WITH POTABLE
WATER.
4. POND SHALL BE MAINTAINED AS SPECIFIED AND MAINTENANCE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
OWNER.
5. THE PROPERTY OWNER AND/OR HOA WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ANNUAL INSPECTION OF
STORMWATER BMP'S.
6. THE GRASS SIDE SLOPES SHALL BE MOWED MONTHLY, OR AS NEEDED.
7. TREES AND INVASIVE SPECIES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM WITHIN THE POND AND ON THE
EMBANKMENTS ON A SEMI-ANNUAL BASIS.
8. TRASH SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE INSIDE OF, AND AROUND THE POND OUTLET STRUCTURE AND
THE STRUCTURE SHALL BE EXAMINED FOR DAMAGES ANNUALLY.
9. THE OUTLET STRUCTURE ORIFICES ARE TO BE CLEANED AND UNCLOGGED MONTHLY, OR
IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING LARGER STORM EVENTS.
10. THE OUTLET PIPE IS TO BE INSPECTED, CLEANED, AND REPAIRED AS NEEDED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS.
11. MONITOR THE ACCUMULATION OF SEDIMENTATION ANNUALLY. SEDIMENT IS TO BE REMOVED FROM
THE PERMANENT POOL WHEN THE VOLUME HAS BEEN REDUCED BY 25%. SIMILARLY, SEDIMENT IS TO
BE REMOVED FROM THE FOREBAY WHEN THE VOLUME HAS BEEN REDUCED BY 50%.
12. THE POND BOTTOM SHALL BE MAINTAINED TO PROVIDE PROPER DRAINAGE TOWARDS OUTLET
STRUCTURE. (0.5% MIN BOTTOM SLOPE).
13. ENERGY DISSIPATORS ARE TO BE INSPECTED, CLEANED, AND REPAIRED AS NEEDED.
14. REPAIRS TO THE POND BERMS, SIDE SLOPES, OR ANY ERODED AREAS SHALL BE ADDRESSED
ANNUALLY OR AS NEEDED.
15. MANAGEMENT OF ALL VEGETATION SHOULD BE MONITORED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS TO ENSURE
PROPER PLANT LIFE IS MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.
16. CITY OF STATESVILLE MUST BE NOTIFIED IN WRITING OF ANY CHANGES IN MAINTENANCE
