HomeMy WebLinkAboutSWA000204_Wetland Determination/Report_20230425LOWRYS ENVIRONMENTAL & ECOLOGICAL SERVICES, LLC 1823 Quinn Road Chester, South Carolina 29706 Phone 803-992-0910 16 April 2021 Mr. Michael Duval, PE McAdams 3430 Toringdon Way Suite 310 Charlotte, North Carolina 28277 RE: The Glenns Development Parcel ID # 02239083 Town of Wingate, Union County, North Carolina Dear Mr. Duval: Lowrys Environmental & Ecological Services, LLC (LEES) conducted a jurisdictional wetland and stream evaluation of the property known as The Glenns Development Site (PID #: 02239083; f46.95-acres) that is located adjacent to the Monroe Bypass, approximately 1,800 feet east of the intersection of the Monroe Bypass and Ansonville Road, in the Town of Wingate, Union County, North Carolina. Physical Characteristics of the Site The site contains a mixture of the following vegetative types: hardwood dominated forests, pine dominated forest, hardwood -pine mixed forests, and areas previously cleared and left to naturally regenerate. Topography would be considered rolling with minor peaks and valleys. Review of Data Prior to Field Visit Prior to visiting the site, aerial photographs, soil maps, and the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) maps were reviewed. The aerials (both recent and historic) did not reveal any large areas of suspected wetlands. Review of the soils map revealed that there are no hydric soils mapped on the site. Review of the NWI map for the site revealed that there are no mapped jurisdictional features within the project boundary. Field Review of the Site A review of the site was conducted on June 14, 2019. During this visit, no jurisdictional wetlands were observed on the site. Additionally, no intermittent or perennial streams were observed on the site. LOWRYS ENVIRONMENTAL & ECOLOGICAL SERVICES, LLC Summary The Glenns Development site is dominated by rolling topography with minor peaks and valleys. The soils of the site are all mapped as "non-hydric" soil types and the National Wetlands Inventory Map for the site identified no jurisdictional wetlands or stream located on the site. Additionally, the field review of the site revealed that no jurisdictional wetlands or streams were located on the site.
