An evaluation of soil properties and hydraulic conductivity (Ksat) has been conducted at
,your request on the aforementioned property. The purpose of the investigation was to
determine soil water table depths (SHWT) based on soil profiles. In addition, Ksat was

Soils at the proposed basin site are most similar to the Wagram soil series (see attached
boring logs). Three borings were advanced to 10.00 feet. Seasonal High Water Table
(SHWT) as determined by evidence of colors of chroma 2 or less (and/or concentrations
of high redox mottles) was encountered at depths ranging from 80 to 96 inches below the
ground surface (see chart attached). {

STORMWATER PROJECT NARRATIVE

This project is for construction of self storage units. After construction the property will
be connected and accessed from the existing self storage facility to the east. The area of the
site is 2.9 acres and the disturbed area of 2.82 acres has been calculated for the site. The site is
wooded and most of it drains to the south and enters the DOT storm sewer system along US
Highway 401. It eventually reaches Little Rock Fish Creek and continues in the Cape Fear
watershed.
During construction a sediment basin will be installed at the same location as the
stormwater BMP. After the site is stabilized the sediment basin will be converted to a
permanent stormwater basin. Additional storage capacity will be provided in underground
pipes connected to the basin. The basin will have a forebay and separate stormwater rapid
filter area to meet the water quality treatment requirements before discharging into the DOT
roadside ditch and storm sewer system. Details for these measures are included on the detail
plan sheet.
The predeveloped runoff from the site was calculated at 6.32 cfs for the 10 year storm
and 7.14 cfs for the 25 year storm event. Enough storage is provided so that the 10 post
developed storm is less than the predeveloped runoff condition, as is required by DOT since it is
their catch basin and piping that is immediate receiving system. Storage volume is provided by
the stormwater basin and additional storage capacity is provided in large 24" RCP pipes under
the concrete drive. The peak runoff rate after development for the 10 year storm is 3.57 cfs
(after detention). The riser overflow structure elevation is 255.30 and the emergency spillway
embankment elevation is 255.80. The high water elevation of the 10 year storm is 257.78.
The required water quality treatment volume was calculated using the simple method
and equals 7,849 cubic feet. This volume of water is stored and treated through a rapid sand
filter. The sand filter is the same designed that has been previously approved for use at
concrete plants as part of their industrial permit. The filter uses a high permeable geotextile
that also filters out pollutants in the stormwater that might make it through the top sand layer
of the filter. The geotextile is called "Adsorb -it" as manufactured by Eco-Tec, Inc in Gig Harbor,
WA. It can pass over 100 gallons per minute per square foot.
