Inspection Summary:
The inspection was in response to a notice of intent. The facility consists of a building and parking lot. All manufacturing
takes place inside the building. The facility stores, processes and paints scrap tire chips to create rubber mulch. The
processinga nd painting of the tire chips occurs within the building. Bagged and sealed tire mulch is stored in the parking
lot. Tire mulch is also stored in a large pile in a contained area. It was raining heavily at the time of the inspection. Some of
the tire chips in the large pile were observed to be moved around by the water. It was discussed with facility personel that
this area would need to be monitored to make sure the tire chips stay out of storm drains.
The paint used on teh tires is stored in totes. There are spill kits within the building. There was one drain observed by a
loading dock at the rear of the facility. This drain is routed to the sanitary sewer.
There is one outfall at the facility. Stormwater leaves the site through a detention pond.
