Outfall Removal from SWPPP
Hickory Springs Manufacturing - Catawba County
Dear Ms. Camacho:
The Mooresville regional Office has received a request to remove two outfalls from SWPPP monitoring
requirements. During the technical assistance inspection on November 3, 2021, it was discovered that
the Hickory Springs Manufacturing facility has reduced in size as adjacent parcels have been sold. As a
result, outfalls 1 and 2 are no longer on Hickory Springs Manufacturing property or indicative of their
industrial activity.
Based on the November 3, 2021 inspection, outfalls 1 and 2 may be removed from the Stormwater
Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Outfalls 3 and 4 remain representative of the facilities industrial
activity and shall continue to be sampled per the permit. This shall take effect at the next monitoring
event.
Please append this letter to your Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) or permit to document
outfalls being removed from monitoring. If changes in drainage areas, structures, processes, storage
practices, or other activities occur that significantly alter the basis of this approval, outfall removal may no
longer be valid. You should either resume sampling at all SDOs, or reapply to this office for remove
outfalls that do not represent the industrial activity based on updated information. If you have any
