Mr. Stockett is in the process of obtaining a land grading permit for the construction of an access road to proposed lots that will be 10.0 acre lots or bigger. EXISTING CONDITIONS The existing parcel is mostly wooded with rolling terrain. An existing house on the property will be demolished to construct the new access road. Areas of concentrated flows are intermittent to ephemeral; however, no impacts to streams is anticipated. There are no regulated wetlands located within the road construction area and within the new lot boundaries. HYDROLOGY & HYDRAULICS The proposed access road will be drained by roadside, vegetated channels. Drainage areas to each section of channel were delineated and flows estimated for hydraulic analysis. The appropriate stabilization measure was proposed based on the results of the channel analysis. The project shall also consist of two piped crossing that were designed for estimated discharges by methods outlined in FHWS HDS-5. The channel analysis and pipe data sheets are attached to this narrative. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL The use of erosion control matting and blankets will be key to minimizing sedimentation. Rock check dams with storage in channels will be utilized for sediment control while wattles and matting will be utilized for erosion control in channels. The roadway plans include the erosion and sediment control measures. For the steeper channels, the rock check dams will likely stay in place and maintained as a permanent erosion control measure to slow concentrated flows. Permanent soil reinforcement matting will be required in several locations (see plans and channel analysis worksheets). 1
